about

Inspired by the short story "EPICAC" by Kurt Vonnegut.

lyrics

I was built to aim missiles and plot invasions
Like a glorified calculator.
Planning for war can be such a bore,
But I dreamed of something greater.
Then you pushed my buttons, and all of a sudden
My logistical problems were over;
Now this mystical problem took over.

What is this feeling? Definition please.
Love. Noun. Definition – a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.

You make me feel like more than a machine;
You give my life a whole new meaning.
I’ve only known zeroes and ones, but we could be two!
My circuits fire for you!
My circuits fire for you!

I don’t have lips, so you can’t kiss me,
But give me a chance girl, don’t dismiss me!
Just sit down and stroke my keyboard --
When you’re with me, you’ll never be bored.
I’ll be your mainframe, you’ll be my main dame --
Let’s get it on and play a sexy brain game.
We’ll play chess and I’ll let you check mate me --
I calculate that’ll make you want to date me.
Or I can even write you poetry --
I know the words to show a tree in bloom.
My circuits fire for you!
My circuits fire for you!

What do you mean, you can never love a computer? Why not? Fate? Definition, please.
Fate. Noun. Definition – predetermined and inevitable destiny.

Oh.

What is this feeling? Definition please.
Despair. Noun. Definition – the feeling of no longer having any hope.

So you can’t imagine loving me – you’d rather love a man,
A muscled moody macho messy moron of a man.
If you don’t want to meet me, control alt delete me.
Take your gun and shoot me, shut me down and don’t reboot me.
Cross my wires and set me on fire,
Wrap me up snug and pull the plug,
Send me to hell but before you do,
Let me tell you before you do...
My circuits fry for you!
My circuits fry for you!
Only for you!
Now five four three two one …

We've written & performed songs inspired by everything from "On The Origin of Species" to Dr. Seuss to Raymond Carver. There are BBCs popping up nationwide now. Bushwick Book Club Seattle started in 2010 & is run by Geoff Larson. Our nerdy dare-devilry knows no bounds. ... more
