"Social Meltdown"
performed by Moody & The Stabilizers

I missed my train stop and all of the clues.
You'd had enough of me missing social cues.
Wanted to have a good night and get along with your friends
So how'd we get in a fight, like every night out ends?

Shutting down now
Can't understand those band geeks
(They make me anxious. I wanna get away)
Driving faster
I control the wheel
(Can't catch my thoughts now. They're racing and I feel...)

All my confusion starts to disappear.
Driving cross-country makes decisions clear.
Like being a badass, racing from cops
I bend the rules, but break at all rest stops.

I wrestled a goat to defend my own - proof I am getting stronger!

Alpha female
Sparring without gloves
(This one has horns, but she doesn't want my love.)
Tapping out now
Good-bye perfect day
(No worries, this time)

It's time to get off the train. I know this time it's for real.
You helped as much as you could, now it's your time to heal.
I think I owe the East Coast another try.
Can't always run away, can't always say goodbye.

I'm home. Maybe not okay. But home.

The Bushwick Book Club Brooklyn, New York

We started in January 2009 playing songs written in response to Kurt Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions. We haven't stopped since. We've written & performed songs inspired by everything from "On The Origin of Species" to Dr. Seuss to Raymond Carver. There are BBCs popping up nationwide now. Bushwick Book Club Seattle started in 2010 & is run by Geoff Larson. Our nerdy dare-devilry knows no bounds. ... more
