Yes, people are stupid; they sought to be smart. Yes, people should finish the things that they start. Yes, noises are ugly. They ought to be sweet. Yes, birds can be messy. I wish they were neat. But I jump to conclusions, and I'm usually right. I jumped to a conclusion when I read your book the other night. You seem judgmental, and I guess it's true, because if little kids get bored sometimes, Juster, what's it to you? I looked at the building you designed for some town. The siding was tacky, and the windows faced down. Now who is the dummy and who is the wise? Bet even Milo knows that windows should point to the skies. I jump to conclusions. It saves so much time. You made a building without reason or rhyme. Oh, you seemed untalented, but you're free to be because if you like making crappy architecture and you want to pick on some poor kid who's just hanging out, what's it to me?

You learn more by being wrong for the right reasons than you do by being right for the wrong reasons. You learn more by being wrong for the right reasons than you do by being right for the wrong reasons. Say the sisters, say the sisters Rhyme and reason Say the sisters, say the sisters They ought to know Say the sisters, say the sisters We ought to free them. Free the sisters; free the sisters So Wisdom can grow. You may not see it now, but everything you learn has purpose. There’s so much going on than what you see just at the surface. The fly flaps its wings to make a breeze The earth feels your weight when you fall to your knees. When you laugh, gladness spreads in a ripple When you’re sad, it’s harder to laugh just a little When you learn something the whole world is richer So learn a lot, learn a lot, learn a lot we’ll all be millionaires. We’ll all be filthy rich, we’ll all be loaded, richer than Phillip Drummond You learn more by being wrong for the right reasons than you do by being right for the wrong reasons. Say the sisters, say the sisters Rhyme and reason Say the sisters, say the sisters They ought to know Say the sisters, say the sisters We ought to free them. Free the sisters; free the sisters and Wisdom will grow.

Milo's Wild Joyride Take a look around you Seek what you would find Look a little closer Open your eyes Greatest expectation Wild imagination There's a Rhyme and Reason In an ordinary day The more you know, The more you know you know It's all in how you look at things And... knew it all the time The road leads further As far Know the answer Know just why it matters Let the definition Change your mind Paint a brighter picture One word at a time Down with silence Say what's on your mind Milo, Time to come back home Time to end this wild joyride And ... knew it all the time The road leads you further As far as you like

Conclusions A portal appeared, walked through the door Abandoned the land I knew before On the other side, rhyme and reason in chains Trapped in confusion’s foothills and plains Out the demons came, always close behind They had a mission: to invade our minds From every cave and crevice, in want of absolution Destroy intruders, protect our delusions Goodbye, goodbye and hello, my dear You evaporate as quickly as you appear Please, please, please return it if you find my way Got lost in expectations, where we spent a foolish day Castle in the sky, inside imagination sought it out together, curiosity piqued Tearing at the truth, teeth of exaggeration And from our lifeboat, possibility leaked Swam in the sea of knowledge, and still you came out dry Displayed all your angles, revealed all your sides Up ahead the road’s divided into three I’m taking the high one Goodbye, goodbye and hello, my dear You evaporate as quickly as you appear Please, please, please return it if you find my way Got lost in expectations, where we spent a foolish day I’m bleeding on your point of view But I won’t live inside these wounds I can’t move inside this skin Take your conclusions And wrap them up in bandages

about

The Bushwick Book Club Brooklyn, New York

We started in January 2009 playing songs written in response to Kurt Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions. We haven't stopped since. We've written & performed songs inspired by everything from "On The Origin of Species" to Dr. Seuss to Raymond Carver. There are BBCs popping up nationwide now. Bushwick Book Club Seattle started in 2010 & is run by Geoff Larson. Our nerdy dare-devilry knows no bounds. ... more
